Tofu & Walnut Balls

This is a great dish to take to a potluck.


Makes 20 balls

450g firm tofu, drained

1 cup quick oats

⅓ cup walnuts

1 med brown onion, finely chopped

3 tablespoons savoury yeast flakes

2 tablespoons soy sauce

½ tsp garlic powder


  1. Mash tofu with a fork or process lightly in a food processor.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well to bind (or pulse in a food processor until combined).

  3. Shape into 20 balls (or patties).

  4. Bake at 175C for 20 minutes. Flip then bake for a further 5 minutes until lightly browned.

  5. Serve as they are or place in a casserole dish and cover with tomato pasta sauce. When ready to serve, reheat in the oven until the sauce is bubbling.
