This is a great dish to take to a potluck.


Ingredients
Makes 20 balls
450g firm tofu, drained
1 cup quick oats
⅓ cup walnuts
1 med brown onion
3 tablespoons savoury yeast flakes
2 tablespoons soy sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
Place the tofu in a large mixing bowl and mash with a fork (alternatively, process lightly in a food processor).
Very finely chop the onion and walnuts. Add to the tofu with the remaining ingredients and mix well to bind (or pulse in a food processor until combined).
Shape into 20 balls (or patties).
Bake at 175C for 20 minutes. Flip then bake for a further 5 minutes until lightly browned.
Serve as they are or place in a casserole dish and cover with tomato pasta sauce. When ready to serve, reheat in the oven until the sauce is bubbling. You can also serve them with spaghetti.
Thermomix Instructions
Place the tofu in a large bowl and mash with a fork.
Place the remaining ingredients into Thermomix bowl and chop 3 seconds/speed 5.5.
Use a silicone spatula to remove the onion and walnut mixture from the Thermomix and add it to the mashed tofu. mix well to combine.
Shape the mixture into 20 balls.
Bake at 175C for 20 minutes. Flip then bake for a further 5 minutes until lightly browned.
Serve as they are or place in a casserole dish and cover with tomato pasta sauce. When ready to serve, reheat in the oven until the sauce is bubbling. You can also serve them with spaghetti.
